ANITA CONTI (17/05/1899 – 25/12/1997)

Renowned as France’s first female oceanographer, her work led her to travel extensively. Among her activities, she created nautical charts, disarmed mines left on the seabed during World War II, studied oyster farming and salmon fishing, and precociously intuited the environmental risks that these activities posed.
